Lake County Common Pleas Judge Eugene A. Lucci has appointed Concord Township resident Morgan R. McIntosh, as the Lake County Grand Jury foreperson for the three-month term that began Jan. 6.
McIntosh is serving his first term as Concord Township trustee. He was the president of OmegaOne, a Willoughby-based manufacturing company, and remains as a consultant, according to a news release.
He is an active member of Vistage International, a CEO mentoring group; he and his management
team graduated from Scalerator NEO, a business growth and leadership curriculum.
The grand jury, consisting of nine members, meets weekly to hear cases and decides whether fellow citizens will be placed on trial for criminal offenses, usually serious crimes called felonies, the release stated.
The grand jury has two responsibilities: to protect innocent persons from needless accusations, and to assure accused persons that any evidence against them is considered fairly.
The grand jury conducts itself in secrecy, and its authority is independent of the prosecutor. Also among its duties is to inspect and report to the court on conditions in the county jail.
